St James is facing an incredible challenge in that the building requires extensive work to the roofs, windows and masonry which, at current prices, is likely to be in the region of £2m.

St James is a large building with a long roofline, which helps explain why the costs are so great. In order to manage the overall roof and other works, the project has been broken down into phases with, we hope, more achievable financial targets associated with each phase.

With the first phase, comes the Roof Rescue Project, in which fundraising has already begun in earnest.

All of our events planned throughout the year are just another step closer towards our goal, and we are very grateful for your support. This will ensure that future generations will be able to celebrate in this lovely place of worship for many years to come.
